Free Ebook: How To Start An Internet Business

Su Sheng Loong 31 May 2008 | : Internet Business

If you have been following my blog, you should know that I am a big fan of Yaro Starak, an Australian problogger. Today, I will be sharing his free ebook here. This ebook is called “How To Start An Internet Business”. I actually obtained this book by subscribing to his RSS feed at entrepreneurs-journey.com. You may find out more about Yaro Starak by reading my previous post.

How To Start An Internet Business

Yaro is not only a problogger, but also a successful online and offline entrepreneur. What he amazes me is he has never taken any full time job before, despite having some casual part-time jobs during his University life. I think it is cool as he really knows how to leverage on the Internet to start his own business.

This ebook is a very good guide for those who have zero knowledge about online business and those who have just started their business on the Internet. Yaro has been emphasizing on the importance of distinguishing between strategies and tactics. This ebooks is written more on the strategies part instead of the tactics. After all, you can easily find any step-by-step tactics on the Internet.

You may download the ebook here and please write your review on this ebook by leaving a comment here. Thank you!

Incredible Basketball Player, Tracy McGrady

Su Sheng Loong 29 May 2008 | : Sports

You like playing basketball? Or are you a NBA fanatic? Personally I love basketball and I enjoy watching basketball game. The following video is replay of one of the greatest NBA matches that I have ever watched. The game was played by my favourite NBA teams, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs. What makes this basketball match special is the unbelievable performance of Tracy McGrady, the most deadly shooter of Houston Rocket. It seemed that San Antonio Spurs was going to win the game. However, Tracy McGrady managed to score 13 points in the last 33 seconds and Houston Rockets won eventually. Make sure you watch the video from start to its end and you will be fascinated by his marvelous scoring ability. This video is a bit old but I wish to share it with anyone here!

What I learn from this video is that never ever give up before achieving what we want despite having any difficulties. San Antonio Spurs seemed to win the game but Houston Rockets did not give up and kept fighting at its disadvantaged situation. I respect the players of Houston Rocket especially Tracy McGrady.

BookFest At KLCC

Su Sheng Loong 27 May 2008 | : My Life

Last Saturday, I went to a book fair called “BookFest” at KLCC with my girlfriend. Actually I wanted to study at home on that day. But my girlfriend wanted to purchase some Chinese reference books. So I have to accompany her to KLCC.

Before that, we had been to a book fair as well which was held at The Mines Wonderland. After taking bus and LRT, we managed to reach there at about 1pm. As what I expected, the place was crowded and congested with book lovers. We just went around to search for books we would like to buy.

KLCC Bookfest

The books there were mostly Chinese books, which were imported mainly from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Besides, there were also many English books around being sold at great discount rate. Too bad I did not have enough money to purchase all the books I wanted.

As we kept rambling around the BookFest, we came to the end of the fair and there were many people standing there. Out of curiosity, we moved towards the crowd and guess whom we saw…

Nicholas

Nicholas Zhang Dong Liang(Left)!!!

No wonder so many people were standing and holding cameras there. The event was organized by Besta which sells electronic dictionaries. Nicholas was the artist signed and contracted by Besta to promote its products.

Nicholas2

Few people were selected to have a game with Nicholas on the stage. The winner was the little kid(wearing yellow shirt) beside Nicholas.

Nicholas singing

After the game, Nicholas presented a song called, “Zhi Yin Wei Ni”. The song was nice and you can watch his performance in the following video.

I captured the video and photos with my handphone and I was a bit far away from the stage. So the quality of video and pictures is not so decent.

Dear At BookFest

Nicholas finished the song and he left the stage and moved to the Besta’s booth at the BookFest. So we continued to look for books. In addition, we saw two famous Malaysian bloggers selling and promoting their physical books there. They were bloggers from rawangboy.com and snowxwhite.com and they had been interviewed by Sin Chew Daily Newspaper before. If I had extra money, I would definitely buy their books.

I Am Frustrated With Examination

Su Sheng Loong 21 May 2008 | : My Life

Few hours ago, I just finished my very first paper in the final examination. It was a Business Studies paper. Sometimes I got very frustrated with the examination. Frankly speaking, I love business and even Business Studies. But why am I still frustrated with it? In fact, I like to study REAL business and REAL case studies rather than the boring textbook. I just feel like want to throw the textbook from the thirteenth floor. Why thirteenth floor? Because currently I am staying at the thirteenth level of the condominium.

How I hope the examination can finish as soon as possible. Anyway, the examination ends on 13 Jun (What? 13 again? I didn’t realize that when I was writing the first paragraph). I really wish to start my Internet business soon. Now I feel as if I am stuck at the middle of the road to my success.

Many people are curious about what I am doing. I am still learning everything about starting an online business. The funny thing is I read more ebooks regarding Internet business than my Business Studies textbook even if my exam has started. I can read more than 10 ebooks or special reports on Internet business in one day but I just cannot concentrate on studying the textbook for more than 10 minutes.

I am doing a different thing now compared to any 18 year teenagers. I don’t want to study the dull textbooks again. Neither do I want to have any examinations. I just want to focus on what I want to do, that is Internet business. Many people may not agree with what I am doing now. But I will prove to them that my decision is right, absolutely right.

One Day Vegetarian On Wesak Day

Su Sheng Loong 19 May 2008 | : My Life

My examination is around the corner and I am revising and doing all the past year examination exercises. I thought I would not be blogging for few days. But today is Wesak Day and I get bored studying the textbook. In the afternoon, I had vegetarian food as my lunch with my girlfriend and younger brother.

vegetarian food

This was my lunch just now. Actually I am not a vegetarian and I do eat a lot of meats everyday. Since today is Wesak Day and I am a Buddhist, I decided to have vegetarian food for my lunch today, and maybe for dinner later at night. Besides, the restaurant is pretty new and the vegetarian food sold there is very cheap! What you see in the picture only costs me RM2 and free drinks are available there.

vegetarian food 2

Some of my Christian friends and teachers have prejudice against vegetarian foods. They dislike meat-imitated food( I don’t really know how to call it in English) and some of them told me that it is pointless to eat those foods. Frankly speaking, I respect people who are vegetarians even if they eat meat-imitated food. After all, they are not eating real meats and no animals are being slaughtered for them. In my opinion, those Christians whom I know should respect Buddhists and vegetarians. Of course I am not trying to claim that all Christians are like that. I do have Christian friends who respect other religions and are very open-minded like Ezra.

Su Sheng Loong 18 May 2008 | : Announcement

It has been three or four weeks since I started blogging here. Although I treat this blog as my personal journal, I always wish to write something that are useful for my readers and friends. All these while, I have been writing more about blogging, Internet and personal finance. I am not sure whether all of you like it but I think all these information are useful, at least for me.

I am Blogging!

Sometimes, I just cannot get any idea to write on my blog. I like blogging, but hate to have mental block when trying to squeeze out the content. So I decided to let you tell me what you would like to read on my blog!

Please give me your favourite and preferred topics by leaving me the comments here. I would like to focus on Internet, personal development and entrepreneurship though. You can say something like, “hey Sheng Loong, I would like to see more funny posts like what you had written about the ATM!”

Thank you for your support and I will try my best to provide as many useful information as I can. I am going to have final examination starting in this week and thus I might not be able to blog as frequently as before. But hopefully you will always come back here!

How To Create A Mini Site In 30 Minutes?

Su Sheng Loong 16 May 2008 | : Web 2.0

Recently, few friends of mine asked me to teach them how to build a website. Frankly speaking, I am not really good at building websites. I just have some fundamental knowledge and I focus more on building blogs instead of building static websites. After all, I am not a IT student and I only know some basic knowledge of HTML. I did learn about how to create a website by using Microsoft Front Page when I was still studying in primary school. I had a lot of fun at that time.

Since I always want to build an online business, I actually search through the Internet to look for any guides that are useful for creating a website. If you type “how to create a website” in the Google search field, there should be tons of results on your computer screen. In fact, it is very easy to find tutorials and guides that teach people how to create a website.

Today, I would like to introduce a website on my blog. It is called DIY Mini-site. DIY Mini-site is aimed to teach people how to create a mini site within a short period of time, say 30 minutes! This website is good as it is FREE and you just have to register for an account by typing in your first name, email address and preferred password into the form available.

diyminisite

By having a DIY Mini-site account, you can get access to free downloads of 83 video tutorials, 20 mini site professional templates and real mini site success stories. The materials there are very ideal for beginners who know nothing about building mini sites.

Now with DIY Mini-site, you no longer need expensive software to design your websites. Of course if you wish to build bigger websites, you might have to look for some other resources and more advanced tools. But I think that individuals can hardly build a mega site themselves.

Register your account at DIY Mini-site now and enjoy your video tutorials and other great materials for FREE!

Battle Of The Social Networking Sites

Su Sheng Loong 14 May 2008 | : Web 2.0

In this century, Internet is no longer a dull space where you are only allowed to search for information. With the existence of Web 2.0, people tend to communicate with others on the Internet via various platforms. For instance, Internet users network with other people on social networking sites. Besides, Internet surfers also communicate with others via instant messaging software, blog, forum, et cetera. Today, I am going to focus on social networking sites in this post.

There are many social networking sites on the Internet. You should be familiar with what Facebook, Friendster and Myspace are. These are the typical social networking sites which most Malaysians join. Other than these three sites, there are still plenty of them such as Hi5.com and Tagged.com.

myspace

I always receive email invitation from my friends to join various social networking sites. Sometimes I just get frustrated and reject to join. I mean how could I possibly handle so many social networking sites? Currently, I only have two social networking sites accounts, which are at Friendster.com and Facebook.com. I joined Friendster since year 2004 as many of my friends were joining it. In addition, I just joined Facebook recently as many Internet marketers and bloggers are using it.

facebook

There is always battle among all these social networking sites. Myspace has been the top social networking site in the world all these while. However, Facebook recently has faster growth than Myspace and is estimated to overtake Myspace soon. That is why Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook is so wealthy now. Friendster is on its declining stage in the international market. Nevertheless, Friendster has got more members than Myspace and Facebook in South East Asia, mostly in Malaysia.

friendster

I have actually asked for opinions from my friends regarding the differences among these social networking sites. They told me that Facebook has got many applications that let the users have fun. Myspace is nothing special compared to Facebook. On the other hand, Friendster is so popular in Malaysia because of its existing network and it is much simpler than Facebook. I guess people as lazy as me just don’t like the idea of spending time on decorating the profile page with fancy items and applications.

Which social networking site are you joining? Which one do you prefer the most? Please leave me your comment.

Paypal And ClickBank Solution For Malaysian

Su Sheng Loong 12 May 2008 | : Internet Business

There are several online payment gateway that allows people to pay immediately with credit card or otherwise to make purchases on the Internet. For instance, Paypal, ClickBank, 2CheckOut and WorldPay. These four online payment gateways are the most popular among the Internet marketers. Before this year, Malaysians are not allowed to register for Clickbank account. Fortunately, Clickbank has just opened its door for Malaysians. If you wish to make money online by doing affiliate program or you need a third party credit card merchant, you better sign up for Clickbank now at here.

ClickBank

One of my readers, Faisal asked me a question about how Paypal works and its detail. I realize that many Malaysians still do not have a Paypal account. So, I will be sharing two ebooks here with my readers. These two ebooks will explain to you what Paypal is and how Malaysian can register and withdraw money from Paypal.

Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

You may download the two ebooks here.

There are several methods to register and withdraw money from Paypal. My recommendation is you sign up for a Public Bank Debit Card and follow the instruction shown in the ebooks. It really works because I have tried it!
