Have You Empowered Your Blog RSS Feed With Feedburner?

If you do not know what RSS feed is, please read my previous post where I explained what RSS is and how we can use it. If you are a mere online surfer, I think you do not have to read this post. The reason is I am going to talk further in how we can use Feedburner to empower our blog RSS feed. If you are neither a blogger nor webmaster, the following information is unimportant for you. However, you may still contiune reading if you are interested in Feedburner and RSS.

So what is Feedburner?
FeedburnerFeedBurner is a Chicago-based company that provides media distribution and audience engagement services for blogs and RSS feeds. Its Web-based tools, including an extensive feed and blog advertising network, help publishers promote, deliver, and monetize their content on the Web and make feed-based content more accessible and manageable for its end users.
It's a bit technical and complicated. After all, I took the explanation above from the Feedburner official website itself.

How did I discover Feedburner?
When I first started blogging back in year 2005, I knew nothing about RSS. I believe Feedburner was still not popular at that time. It was only until late in year 2007 when I discovered Feedburner on Yaro Starak's blog. Yaro Starak is currently a popular ProBlogger in Australia. I was very curious about the little widget on his blog sidebar which prompts the visitors to subscribe to his RSS feeds. Besides, he also installed a counter which displays the number of people who have subscribed to his blog RSS via Feedburner. Hence, I tried to explore Feedburner myself without referring to any other source. It's such a simple and easy tool as I could integrate my blog RSS feed with feedburner in less than 1 minute, without any prior experience. What important is that Feedburner is 100% free! Until today, I am still using Feedburner.

Google Acquired Feedburner For $100 Million In Cash!
GoogleBefore I started using Feedburner, Google had acquired Feedburner for $100 Million in cash! If you have been following my blog, you should know that I am a big fan of Google. Therefore I tend to trust Feedburner more than any other RSS syndication service. If Google is willing to invest $100 Million cash in Feedburner, why wouldn't I be willing to spend 1 minute just to create a free account and syndicate my RSS feed with Feedburner? In addition, you may publish Google Adsense advertisement on your Feedburner-powered RSS feed. It means another revenue source for the fellow bloggers who have substantial amount of RSS subscribers.

Simple Video Explaining Why We Should Use And How We Can Use Feedburner
I have found a video that explains what Feedburner is and why we should use it. You may watch it in the following video. The video is done by Gideon Shalwick from BecomeABlogger.com.

Finally, please subscribe to my blog RSS feed by locating the cute RSS icon on the right sidebar. Thank you! */

  2. Hi EliteVillain,

If you read my blog post properly you should know I have been using Feedburner for the past two years. Almost same as you I think. Yes, it also helps manage our RSS subscribers and allow monetization with Google Adsense.
