Human Day, My Chinese Birthday

A very weird title right? I just reached my college hostel in Kuala Lumpur. Before this, I went to "Mama's Kitchen", where I normally had my dinner here. I saw some people eating Yusheng (also known as "Yee Sang" or "鱼生") at the restaurant. In case you do not know what Yusheng is, look at the picture below.

This was the Yusheng I had just now. Today is Renri("Human Day" in Mandarin), the seventh day of Chinese New Year and Chinese believe that it was the day when human beings were created. During Renri, we will have Yusheng as an appetizer to raise 'good luck' for the new year. Actually my family and I don't normally eat Yusheng every year.

But hey, Renri is a special day for me. Today is also my 20th Chinese birthday according to the Chinese calendar. I was born on the Renri in year 1990. Note, Chinese age is one year older than the normal age.

What interesting is that tomorrow is my birthday again. My birthday is on 2nd February. Ehem, just a reminder for you so you know what to do tomorrow. Haha, just kidding. I am exhausted now so I can't write a long post today. Wish you all have a great Chinese New Year! */
