ATM Transforms Into Desktop!

Yesterday, I went to college just to accompany my girlfriend. Actually now I need not attend any classes anymore and I am going to have examination soon. When we were about to leave the college, I wanted to withdraw some money from the automated teller machine. There were two ATMs at my college. I guess I was just unlucky, one of the two ATMs was out of function. So I just moved a little bit towards the second ATM. Guess what I saw? You better see yourself.
I was like, “man!”. The ATM had transformed into a desktop installed with Windows XP! I kept laughing and did not know what I should do as there were no other ATMs. So I just played around with this ATM. At first I thought I could really use it as a desktop. I pressed all the buttons and even touched the screen to see whether it worked or not. I thought I could transform it into…
Luckily, it did not happen. If yes then I guess my college would be destroyed. Eventually, I did not get to withdraw the money and I only left RM10 in my wallet.
(After finish writing this post, I did not know which category should I put this post into. I wanted to put this under the ‘Technology’ category as this was indeed a new ‘technology’! Anyway I just put it under ‘My Life ’section.)

Lol this is funny… indeed. Was that a fault?
How come it became a desktop? Must find an answer =)
I still don’t know why Windows XP can appear on an ATM.
The only thing I know is that the ATM is malfunctioning.
Haha, this is indeed a hilarious post, LOL!
My point of view is that all the machine/hardware should have its own OS ( operating system ) installed. Maybe due to some technical problems, the ATM’s OS just showed on its screen.
Anyway, this is my very 1st time to come across such a “new thing” too, LOL!
so high tech the ATM machine..
but its useless since u cant withdraw any money. hehhe
ATM does not transform into desktop. Just that we do not know exactly how the ATM functions, the software or programme needed to be installed in order to be used. When something we familiar with does not appear to be what we’ve been seeing all this while, we thought it is something new.
Every ATM machines function under Windows, and the ATM we normally use is like a “full screen” program running under the OS.
So the conclusion is that ATM is running under Windows XP. But why wouldn’t the bank upgrade it to Windows Vista? Then the user interface could be nicer. XD
Can someone use the OS and crack some details? Let say bank passwords or something? Sound risky tho after I think about it.
If someone is really good at hacking operating system then he could really crack some data from the ATM. But usually there are surveillance cameras so normally people cannot do anything bad to the ATM.
Hehe, Sheng Loong, don’t forget there is a bunch of people who quote themselves as “professional hackers” on the net. They can probably do something that you have never thought about that.
Those hackers can always hack something in different manners, sometimes it’s quite difficult to “judge” their power of “hacking”.
You will always get shocked by their professions. LOL!
I am always shocked by how powerful the hackers are. I would have some worries if I were to start a Internet business. So some money would be needed to finance security devices and components.
Talking about internet business… I’m still pretty confuse regarding how paypal works. They just your email right for the payment method? So, if you get paid, and they email you… how’s the transfer? Can you explain?
Faisal, there are many other online payment gateway besides Paypal, such as 2Checkout,Clickbank,WorldPay, et cetera. If you are talking about buying online via paypal, I am not really sure because I have never made any payment with Paypal. I made most of my online purchases with debit card via other payment gateway. But I have my own Paypal account.
