If possible you can add on few features that I think is very useful. For instance, you could create a market place where they can trade online. You could also create a Mastermind session whereby all the alumni can find their business or project partners. If you think that it's hard to do so, you can just integrate the functions onto the forum. Many forums are doing the same way actually. Just my suggestion anyway. Yes. I don't recommend building a static website as it will not allow people to interact on the website. It is of course better to host the website on the Uni server.
