A warning from one consumer to another:

DO NOT SIGN UP TO MAXIS BROADBAND!

If you love your kids, don’t let them use Maxis broadband.
Kids who surf slower, learn slower and with the added pressure from having an unstable internet connection and constant disconnection could lead them to having suicidal tendencies at such a young age.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR KIDS, SAY NO TO MAXIS BROADBAND!

If I am not mistaken, Celcom's USB Broadband only has two prices, one is RM99 and another one is RM129. I guess I should really go for Celcom broadband.

There are a few wireless package available in town. Namely Maxis, Celcom, U-Mobile, Izzi, etc. Well, uMobile and iZZZi is only restricted to KL areas. Maxis has got a lot of complaints and Celcom seems to be the best bet. Speed wise, nobody can tell unless u check it out yourself at your favourite haunts. Some offer 3.5 G but not every place has got this, so I would rather try my luck on Celcom with $68/mth or $99/mth. Good luck.

Faisal: Actually before this I wanted to get a Streamyx broadband. But Streamyx broadband is not as mobile as the USB modem. I need to travel to many places with my laptop. Are you sure Celcom is better? If yes, then I would probably go for Celcom instead. I don't know much about Celcom because I am a Maxis user.

Teddy: Really? Thanks for informing me about this. I better check it thoroughly. However, the speed of the Maxis USB broadband is said to be up to 3.6 Mbps. Perhaps it could be faster at area which have 3G coverage.

Actually if you compare the speed between Streamyx Broadband and Maxis Broadband I'd suggest Streamyx. 1M Streamyx speed which cost RM88 is better than 3M++ Maxis Broadband speed. And instead of using Maxis Broadband, why don't you use Celcom Broadband? The coverage is wider. Maxis Broadband doesn't cover the whole Malaysia which Celcom Broadband does.

Just my 10 cents.
